Posh Petals
Elyse, owner of Posh Petals, had her start in event coordinating. She acquired the business two years ago and with her love of flowers found it to be a perfect marriage of two things she was good at. She wanted to bring her love for an art to other people. When someone is planning an event or wedding it can become overwhelming with all of the different parts to consider. Being able to trust your florist or event coordinator to take your vision and bring it to life is so important-- Elyse excels at this.
Coming up with a floral design takes time. When beginning the process, a client will have a consultation with Posh Petals in order for the team to learn more about the client and what their vision is. Some people come in and know exactly what they want, and others only have an idea of the tone or theme. It doesn’t matter where you are at in your planning process-- Posh Petals will be able to create a detailed proposal laying out unique design ideas for clients to choose from. Conceptualizing and trying to visualize your event can be difficult, so they even have software that will show you what your arrangement will look like, and can swap color palettes with a keystroke.
“We are all a little bit different in our design style and preferences, so it’s a fun part of the job to meet with clients to have them trust us enough to turn their ideas into a bigger picture,” Elyse stated.
Of course, this proposal is a starting point-- the final vision doesn’t get locked in until closer to the event or wedding. Throughout the process different changes arise that may affect the design a bride decides on-- A different color for bridesmaid’s dresses, a flower comes in with a more purple tone when it originally looked more pink. It’s such a fluid process and they have to be able to alter the design throughout. But that’s the fun in it. Creating a design, putting in all that work, and then being able to see the finished product in the end.
With the pandemic, a lot of their weddings were downsized or postponed to this year. “There are so many designs that we were so excited for last year that got postponed because of COVID so we are so excited to see those all come together, and we are so excited to execute them and see all these fun palettes, and design ideas. Being forced to wait has been super hard.”
Having flowers or floral arrangements at an event brings so much color and life to your day. I am excited to see what Posh Petals has in store for this upcoming wedding season.
