Tucan Mobile Lounge
In 2019 Jeremy and Sarah purchased a 1972 Airstream with one goal: To make outdoor events easier and more fun. They completely renovated the inside and in May 2020 they launched Tucan Mobile Lounge. Jeremy and Sarah both come from an event background and share a passion for the outdoors. From a production standpoint, a lot of these events, dependent on location, may not have weeks, or even days, prior to the event to allow for setup. Some events may only have the day-of to create a small welcoming village for people to be comfortable in. By the time gates open, you aren’t able to fine tune anything. Jeremy and Sarah wanted to create a space that was turnkey pull up, drop it off, and ready to go.
“The idea behind the whole thing has kind of evolved into all these other solutions--especially in the wedding industry-- and for a lot of these thirdhand, secondhand venues-- either wineries or farms or someone’s house-- they don’t necessarily have those extra accommodations for bridesmaids and groomsmen. Creating the airstream was our solution to that,” Jeremy stated.
They remodeled the airstream to fit most needs. Keeping in mind that every event is unique and each one has a different tone, they went with a neutral palette on the inside. And because Northern Michigan gives off a natural rustic charm, Jeremy and Sarah wanted to include reclaimed wood in the renovation. They used these gorgeous boards for the ceiling panel, base board, and runway. Many different types of décor are available for clients to choose from when designing the inside of the airstream for an event. This customizable addition is great for any event-- whether it’s a mobile bar at a small backyard gathering, or a bridal suite for a wedding, or a green room at a music festival, Tucan Mobile Lounge can serve many purposes
Sarah and Jeremy are excited to see it in action this year. This airstream is able to travel to different parts of Michigan, but its home is in Northern Michigan. Wineries, farms, breweries or any type of flat area is the best fit for the airstream. Tucan Mobile Lounge does not have a liquor license, but if you have a catering company or venue that has a liquor license, alcohol can be served from the airstream as well as consumed in it.
